Wild Clay Teacup - Faceted Black and White 

Made from foraged clay local to Northern CA. The minimal processing makes for a rugged, unique clay body with lots of character. Handmade on the wheel, each piece will be unique. The sides are faceted while the piece is still wet, creating a loose, organic profile. Two different glazes are applied, both made from crushed local stones and wood ash. Sometimes they stay in two distinct layers, while other times the glazes melt into each other creating a cascade effect. This style is known in Japan as Chosen Karatsu.
